Discussion: The changes that will take place when moving from the DS to the 3DS.

Please do suggest any changes when making this transition.

1. All 3DS games are region locked.
2. Manuals are now pamphlets. If you really want to know how to play Pokemon X and Y, you need to use the digital manual.
3. 3DS gameplay can last 3-6.5 hours depending on which 3DS you're using, brightness level, power save, wireless switch, and the age of your 3DS.

1. It's true that Pokemon X and Y will be released at the same time, however what about the other 3DS Pokemon games like Pokemon Rumble Blast and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity? Well unless you import a Japanese 3DS, you'll have to wait for them to get localized before playing them.

2. Manuals are now miniature booklets to say the least. If you want to know more without the internet or the strategy guide you'll need to read the digital manual you can access by touching on the bottom of the touch screen. It's very well organized IMO though sometimes it can be a pain when it comes to getting that specific information you need to beat the game.

3. Fully charging your 3DS is pretty much a requirement when it comes to long vacations or travels. Battery life that lasts 3-6.5 hours isn't too long compared to the DS family. Of course if you bring a car charger while using a car then that's all fine and dandy.
