Sylveon is Bug-type

2) "Sylv" means forest or woods (as in pennSYLVania = penn's woods). Bug types are usually associated with forests.

I'm sorry, but no. No one with any bit of logic in their mind instantly associates forests with bugs. They associate it with trees! Forest =/= bugs. Forest = trees. Hell, the definition of "Forest" is "A dense collection of trees covering a relatively large area". If the "Sylv = forest" argument is proof of anything, it's proof of Sylveon being a grass type... because "forest" means "trees"!

No they don't. I don't know what sprites you're looking at, but most of the Eevees just have simple black eyes.

I'm looking at the official artwork.
Leafeon has the same eyes but light brown,
Espeon has the same eyes but violet.
Glaceon has the same eyes but teal.
Vaporeon has the same eyes but dark brown (almost black).
Flaeron has the same eyes but dark blue (almost black).
Jolteon has the same eyes but dark purple (almost black)
Only Umbreon's eyes are different.

I still don't see what you are seeing. I just looked at the dex entries for all of them on the official site and none of their eyes look anything like Sylveon's. Sylveon's eyes are almost completely round and "glassy" looking, with no indication of an iris or pupil. The others all have varied, but generally more almond shaped eyes with the iris and pupil clearly defined.

Sylveon most guessed types are Normal And Flying
Chatot is Normal/Flying
Chatot is used to advance RNG frames

RNG confirmed. No bug type for you

In the games, Bug-types are usually classed as forest pokemon. That is the environment where they occur in the greatest abundance.

Sylveon has the same eyes but bigger and light bluer.

If "Sylv" relating to sylphs isn't good enough for some people, how about birds?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typical_warbler (check the genus name)

Or butterflies?

Truth is, there's too much unexplained. You can mock other people's serious theories all you like - I sorely want to mock Normal (I did in another topic only as a counter to someone else's pointless mocking of Flying; it wasn't serious.) It just risks making you look silly as soon as the truth is confirmed.

Still. Forest = trees. Not bugs.

OH! Sylveon is a BIRD!

Nope, still a mammal.

You can say that, but it doesn't make it true. I clearly described the characteristics of the eyes as they appear on the official site and the promotional artwork for Sylveon and they are not the same at all. Round =/= Almond. Where is Sylveon's iris and/or pupil? You are just disagreeing to be disagreeable, not actually providing any evidence to the contrary. The only valid counter proposition I've seen in this topic thus far is that Sylveon may be a Normal-type evo. The logic for that makes sense at least.

It's not a nymph, a faerie, a sylph, a "sylvan", a forest, a chunk of silver, or anything else anyone has attempted to make out of its name. So now you're going to nitpick this one?
