It's never given me any trouble. Ever. It's helped me a lot when people pick pokemon like forretress as their lead and it takes me 2 turns to kill it for the small extra bonus damage. Sandstorm/hail do the same damage (more damage), I don't get it. Every topic I go to.. "stealth rock is so op"
Unless you got good reason, having a 4x weak to a common type isn't very smart. SR is both op and up. Without resistances 1/8 isn't a lot to lose, but with weaknesses it makes many unviable. I miss Articuno.
It cripples type doubly weak to it on arrival, and takes a large chunk out of regular weakness as well. It also breaks sashes, prevents sturdy and other stuff like that. And unlike spikes, it does it to levitating mons and fliers as well.
