It appeared they may have originally called flying type bird type but didn't have the time or effort to fully remove it. But as we know, not all flying types are birds- OHHH WAIT A MINUTE!! I hit a major point here!!!
Not all dragon types are dragons (altaria, flygon imo). Even some dragons aren't even dragon type!!
But this is weird because bird type and dragon type are the only types, that are more like animal classifications. So why did they change bird type to flying type? Dragon type could've been more like monster type or something.
With my very fine research conlcuding: Charizard and gyarados are dragons. --- http://i.imgur.com/ZKnlH.jpg -my girlfriend <3 http://i.imgur.com/JN9dp.jpg -I love her so much ^_^

I don't see how bird type is at all relevant to dragon type --- Not changing this sig until Gamefreak brings back the Trick Master. Started 9-19-10

Actually they made Bird type first, then also added Flying, then realized Bird was redundant. That's why Pidgey is part Normal. --- You opened a debate, and I'll be damned if you're not going to finish it. ~smashbrother3

Altaria is a cloud dragon, and Flygon is only not a dragon in your opinion. Your argument is flawed at best, and invalid at worst. --- Chuck Finley is Forever! People that agree: 5. I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and am 100% proud of it. Yeah, it's hot, but it's a dry heat.

Missingno. and 'M (00) aren't birds. --- I'm not easily impressed; I'm usually oblivious to whatever's in front of me. Stunfisk is the epitome of monstrous majestic legendary creatures that spew fire.

Not all Bird types are birds either.
Is this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Missingno.png) a bird? Well, it's Bird type. Not all dragon types look like dragons, not all things that look like dragons (e.g. Charizard and Gyarados) are Dragon-type.
"Monster" type would be even more vague. --- For those of you starting topics about the PS4, there's a PS4 board: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/691087-playstation-4
