This poll is now closed.
I will be holding polls for GameFAQS' favorite starters for each region, and then the winners from each region will compete to see who is the most liked starter on this board!
Will close poll when it reaches 150 (?) votes. Depends on how active the poll is. EDIT: I have voted, but I do not want to bias any opinions. --- Official King Boo with his Boo army http://luginub.tumblr.com/post/46807599167

Charizard is above awesome, Charmeleon is meh, and Charmander is somewhat cute
Venusaur is cool, Ivysaur is also meh, and Bulbasaur is cute
Blastoise sucks beyond suckage, Wartortle is pretty awesome, and Squirtle is adorable.
Charmander line wins because Charizard saves it. --- Not changing this sig until we get a new main series Tales game released on a Nintendo console in the US

Venusaur is the undisputed King of Starters in my book. I don't care that he isn't "Uber" like Blaziken, he's still the coolest of them all.
Speed Boost Blaziken and Contrary Serperior shouldn't be counted, just like a starter shouldn't be counted with Wonder Guard. Those abilities are horribly broken, and the only reason other pokemon aren't broken with those abilities is because they have critical flaws (Ninjask has horrible stats and already amazing speed, Sharpedo lacks a boosting move, and Spinda is Spinda).
In other words. You are right, Venusaur is the king of starters competitively. --- Not changing this sig until we get a new main series Tales game released on a Nintendo console in the US
