Why are some people against a new type?

#31Brandon00151Posted 4/23/2013 1:34:31 PM
Because a new type would be pretty unneeded and most new types people come up with make no sense.

The majority of the pokemon fanbase are OCD preteens and adolescents and the thought of changing pokemon sends them into a fugue state.

Always interested in any Pokemon event distribution cartridges. My email is in my profile.

Why?

Fairy type is stupid

But the real reason is no one wants another reason for Grass types to suck.

What would fairy have to do with Grass?

Essentially, think about what matchups would cause a new type to balance the metagame. Now think about all the other matchups they could give it. Which is more likely?

Why are people assuming they won't be tweaking the existing types in addition to adding types?

Because why the heck should they add a new type? Addng a new type just for the sake of adding a new type is plain stupid.

Fairy/love/light have no purpose. Steel and Dark were added to balance Psychic and Dragons.

mostly balance issues that could arise

plus imo flavor-wise, fairy type sounds awful

This.
I understand that people that don't play online couldn't care less about the type chart, but for those of us that do play competitively, a new type would completely change the game.
Considering how sensitive the type chart is already, chances are high that it wouldn't end well.

I'm not easily impressed; I'm usually oblivious to whatever's in front of me.
Stunfisk is the epitome of monstrous majestic legendary creatures that spew fire.
