No, this game has evolution, and is thus not Christian.

1. Stupid attempt at flame-baiting is stupid.
2. He said "kid friendly", not "Christian". I'm sure there are atheist parents out there who would prefer their children not be exposed to porn, too.

Or agnostic
The distinction is important

The point is that belief in God is not in any way tied to the things a parent wants their children exposed to. I went with the "opposite" of Christian to make that point clear.

Opposite of Christian. Did you just call Atheist people Antichrists?

Ignoring the fact you "forgot" EVERY Pokemon game comes with a second iteration and you choose to blissfully ignore y, I will answer this in a serious manner.

Pokemon was never really for children, we just didn't understand what was going on and it being kid friendly made us not mind. It is still the same way now, up to black 2 and white 2. We can't tell with x and y, but it should be the same.

It's not you liking a game, it's you thinking it's so mainstream everyone played it.

Thank you for all the great replies, and to anyone who thought I was just messing around, I wasn't. The reason I was concerned is because my kid has been looking up porn up until I recently caught him, so when he told me about this game(yes even though it's pokemon) I was concerned. You never really know these days anymore.

And, as a responsible parent, of course you ask a bunch of people you don't know on a message board rather than doing the research yourself.

Seems legit.

Joke topic, parents don't know how to use the Internet.

I wish we'd get a more grown up Pokemon series. At least give us a story line that wouldn't exist in a pop-up book, this is a pretty in-depth, time consuming game.

The only realistically violent (and hence less child-friendly) Pokemon-related product is the movie Mewtwo Strikes Back. The injuries looked more realistic than any scene in any other Pokemon movies or the Pokemon anime.

The games themselves have never been realistically violent to any extent, nor have they included anything suggestive (unless, maybe, you manage to come across the remotely relevant jokes made by some people about the Day Care centres). Pokemon X and Y will most definitely continue with this tradition of the series.

Strangely, my mom is more internet savvy than I am and She's about 50 or so.

Anyway, you shouldn't have to worry about it. Pokémon has always had hidden adult themes, but they are usually hidden well enough that children should not notice them. Similar to how most Disney movies have hidden adult themes.

It is most likely a reference to DNA and chromosomes.
It is still child-friendly.

This or they finally realized the old Gem and Color combo was becoming overused.

Your kid was 10, right?

.... Hm.... Yeah... That sounds about right for when I learned about the birds and the bees... From school...

Good news is that the, "talk" that you'll inevitably have with your kid (or may have already had ) was made much more hilarious.

Anywho, Pokémon doesn't really have anything overly sexual beyond maybe a few character designs here and there being a bit suggestive. Nothing to major. Certainly, nothing as bad as what you're kid may have been subjected to had he been a fan of Nickelodeon around 2008. (If he was, say hello to the reason why you're kid no longer goes, "eww, cooties!" when he sees a girl: http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view1/1566088/ty-lee-at-the-beach-o.gif Say thanks, Nickleodeon! Note: This hottie happens to be a supporting character in a popular children's cartoon. She's not just well endowed, but quite flexible! A well rounded young lady, if ya know what I mean. )

Kids are no longer concerned with cooties because their parents have them too concerned with making sure everyone knows they DO like the opposite gender.
