Turn
1-Blaze kick Item protects it speed goes up
2-Protect speed goes up
3-Blaze kick item protects it speed goes up
4-protect speed goes up

I think that is enough to show why this item would join moody as a metagame wide ban

how broken would the metagame become if in gen VI they introduced an item that made a Pokemon completely invincible for 4 turns?

Identical, except with all other changes from Gen VI; that would be one of the few unanimous bans in Smogon's history. Make it once every 10 turns or make it take away 25% of your health, and you have a less broken item.
