Give a bad Pokemon a signature move to make it more useable

#1Faust_8Posted 5/4/2013 11:09:41 PM
Not broken, just better. This was prompted by that signature move for Flareon topic, where I suggested this.

Move: Nimble Flare
Type: Fire, Physical
Base Power: 85
Effect: Raises Speed one stage

Flareon would still be pretty bad but this would certainly make it better. If you find a way to attack with this move twice or so you could actually out-Speed things while doing decent damage. Still too frail, vulnerable until you attack at least twice with it usually, and not all that powerful either. But again, didn't say it would make Flareon great, just not as godawful as it is now.

So now it's your turn to take Pokemon that are very bad competitively (NU, RU, you know) and bump them up a bit with a signature move to help them out.

Vanilluxe: (yes I know it's slightly in RU) Cream Wall:

Barrier + Light Screen... in one move

Charizard

Pyro Centrifuge
Fire, special
120 base power
Removes all entry hazards and fully heals the Pokemon. +7 priority. Also gives +6 to all stats. And the opponent can't use any entry hazards for the rest of the battle. And if Charizard faints, it gets revived automatically.

Make Cream Wall a light screen, but for burn. So everything does normal damage, but you just can't get burned for 5 turns.

Also we have entry hazards, but we should have an entry shield too. So

Stun Fisk: Ground Zero, all entry hazards are removed and the area will remain clear for 5 turns. By the way, it is a term used way before the 9-11 stuff.

That would be entirely useless at helping Vanilluxe. The reason it's so bad off is its lackluster movepool.

If it had some actual coverage it could make use of its offensive stats, however it's unlikely one move would fix that so I went to make a move that gave it's defensive abilities better usage.

Charizard's not a bad Pokemon. It's just okay.

Didn't really read the "not broken" part, huh?

The same could be said of any Nu Pokemon that isn't total crap. (cough Beedrill), but even then being mainly NU or slightly above isn't exactly praise worthy.

Ampharos; Quick Lightning
Electric
100 BP
5 PP
+ 2 Priority
Special
30% chance of paralysis upon contact.

A more special oriented "Extreme Speed" move. Rain Dance teams will "love " this move. It also gives Ampharos the ability to make use of it's offensive capabilities with some nasty risks for those who would switch into it. (bar Ground types)

----

Kangaskahn: Mother's Day Surprise
Fighting
95 BP
5 PP
Recover effect (after damage is inflicted), however all defensive stats drop by two stages after use, but speed increases 1 stage after damage is inflicted. (from this move)
Physical

A better Fighting move for coverage that makes it so Kangaskahn doesn't have to depend on Sub-punch, or Drain Punch. The recover effect would also give it some longevity, + Scrappy Kangaskahn loves it.
