I'm planning a documentary about competitive battling and I could use some help

Hey, I'm planning a documentary on the whole competitive battling scene and I'm trying to get hold of a selection of quotes from players to put in the pitch. If you could answer some of these questions, it doesn't have to be all, that would be awesome. Even better would be if you could record them on video, but if not - no worries!

There's a chance that this documentary might not go beyond the planning stages, but if it were to do so - would it be something any of you would be interested in being interviewed for?

What makes Pokemon (as a video game) stand out?

The games have a wide demographic, appealing to people of all ages. What distinctions are there (if any) do you find in the way different people play?

How did you first get involved with competitive battling?

Have you participated in any 'in person' tournaments? If so, which ones?

How do you prepare for a tournament?

What do you look for when building a team?

What makes the metagame a unique experience?

There is some controversy regarding hacked and/or RNG abused teams, where do you stand on this?

What do you think is the appeal of shiny Pokemon?

How do you think sites like Smogon have helped (or hindered, if you feel that way) the competitive battling scene?

Are there any specific individuals that you follow in the scene?

What are your thoughts on the official Pokemon World Championships and do you think it could be improved?

What would you like to see in a documentary about the competitive battling scene?

As a film student, I totally support this. I can't help much since I'm not a competitive player, but I wish you luck.

I'd love to see the film when it's done. Are you doing like a Kickstarter or anything?

Outside opinions would be welcome to, so feel free to answer what you could from your own perspective.

It's still very early stages at the minute, but a Kickstarter at some point down the line is probably what will happen.

Well, for non competitive people, it's hard to get into the competitive scene when you have do insane amounts of work for the "perfect Pokemon". EVs are easy and so are natures, but the IVs are insane. This is a game where one speed point can cost you the match, so it's hard to actively participate in the metagame.

A documentary about competitive battling and you're not asking Smogon? Really TC? Do know anything about competitive battling?

All I can say is that you need big tournament footage and maybe look at the life of some competitive player that will play said tournament.

What is wrong with you? As a human being, you need to learn how to answer a question. If you can't even help answering/commenting a single question of TC (Which were created with conscientious thoughts and time he spent) but bringing up Smogon and defaming TC for not knowing about competitive battling, at least let TC know about Smogon by explaining how there is a good place that can help you with competitive battling related aspects.

And I strongly advise you to stop mentioning about Smogon. As I said before, I had decided not to care anything about what Smogon does. However, if you keep talking as if gamefaqers know less about Pokemon battling or everyone should go to Smogon to learn about the battle, that is a blatant invasion of the community.

He just asked people in Gamefaqs to answer his questions or give some constructive advice about how to make a successful documentary. Not to Smogon Seriously, this is another reason why I hate Smogon. No respect for others but know-it-all.
