Does Pokemon need saving?

I actually disagree with lots of this. Why exactly does Pokemon need to be saved? Maybe it's fine as it is.

Pokemon was saved when I was revealed, now don't act like it's dying.

Pokemon doesn't need to be saved. It is still one of the most successful game franchises in existence, and it shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Stopped reading at "Get rid of EVs and IVs"

Should've stooped reading at the part where he said weather effects take to long. What weather effects?

It's not really a genwunner article as much as it is making legitimate but minor complaints.

The world may not be in Pokemania anymore, but the series is nowhere near in danger.

(The fact the person in question only showed the Gen 1 Pokemon makes me wary as well)

But anyway..

Graphical upgrade is already happening. To what extent they want it, I'm not sure.

Battle speed is good, though "half a second" for attack animations would make a lot of attacks look odd I imagine.

Despite having clear indications of those effects plastered all over the screen at any given time, the game makes sure to remind you that the sun is still shining every single turn.

....I don't think they've played gen 5, because this no longer happens. It's a very valid point in gens 2-4, but this is already a fixed problem.

Get rid of IVs and EVs.

Not touching this.

Allow us to catch the other starters at some point

This is hardly doing anything to hurt pokemon, especially since it encourages trading.

Overall, they had some minor points but their gripes are nowhere near "solutions" for a "dying" series.

I don't think ivs/evs should be taken out because of competitive battling, however I wouldn't miss them but a way to see them would be a lot better.

Pokemon is fine. As long as GF doesn't **** up with the Core Mechanics, I'll keep playing Pokemon. Long Battles and dialogue don't bother me too much. Though I believe something should be done about IV's, without removing them. Maybe vitamins like Protein to increase IV's by a maximum of 10 points per stat?
