When I think back, I dont really mind this. Only as long as "dual-typed" meant something like:- http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Scald_(move) http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Tri_Attack_(move) http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ice_Burn_(move) http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Freeze_Shock_(move)
Do you know what they have in common? They have special effects which are different from their type expectant. Freeze Shock and Ice Burn with paralyse and burn respectively instead of freeze while Scald burns despite being a water attack that generally has no notable special effects to its type.
When I think dual-type attacks, I'm expect, for example Scald to be able to hit grass-types for SE (in addition to SE to the other types Water can hit SE for) yet while still getting STAB Water without the neccesity of being dual-type.
Think: if a steel type attack that can hit fighting types for SE or a poison type attack that can hit steel for SE instead of immunity.
Of course, the limitation is that this move should'nt be like Hyper Beam which is learn by almost everything in the game but only to a specific bunch of mons. --- Action speaks louder than words. Also, I see people surprised at a possible Steel/Fairy Mawile, saying that Fairy doesn't make sense on it. Not that it's a definitive reason, but it is in the Fairy Egg Group...
My ignorance has been informed that Mawile was based on a Japan yokai spirit [I always thought it was a very loose, first Hydra attempt], so I can see why it could get the new [possible] Fairy typing now.
... There's a fair few Japan yokai spirit pokemon now, though - Frolass, Spiritomb etc. Not all of them should get a new sub-type, surely?
... Sableye with it would be killer [literally]. --- PKMN Black FC - 3525 1818 6640 FFIX is greater than FFVII
The new Pokemon Smash information basically disproves this (and the old fairy rumours too). Sylveon isn't fighting, super effective against ice and can be poisoned (which means it isn't steel, but isn't weak to poison). --- rawr
lmao people actually think Dragon is broken? No, you just lack good team building if your team can't deal with Dragons.
And we don't need a new type to make Dragons less worth using. Just make Outrage have an accuracy of 70. Boom, most Dragons besides Latios get ditched immediately. --- Official Piplup of the Pokemon X board. Current Location: In your nightmares with a knife and a gun and a chilling wail
