So wasn't Sylveon as a new type just confirmed?

I'll post it exactly how it went in Smash.

- Sylveon used nunchucks to see if she was fighting. She's then attacked my a wrestler and falls.

- Sylveon karate chops a slab of ice a breaks it

- Sylveon has a box put on her head that is then filled with gas. She falls to the ground.

There were some other things too. She showed up to the set with a pink frilly umbrella, and in the skit she uses a phone that has an extremely long antennae with a white rose at the end.

So I'm convinced that this is a new type then. The only other possible explaination is that fighting got a change in the type chart to be weal to poison, but you made it sound like Sylveon failed as a wrestler, so iunno.

Also, lol at your sig.

A girl dressed up as Sylveon smashed a block of ice.

I definitiely thinks that implies "super effective against".

It's at 1:36.

She was also swinging nunchucks right after.

The block chop may have been part of the "Fighting Type test".

It still implies she's strong against ice, though.

or sylveon can use fighting moves.

But then why use a piece of ice then? I could had been a piece of wood or something more practical
#24RethalwolfPosted 5/12/2013 6:21:11 AM
If she did that, you'd just say it was wood sword or something and it implies she can use grass type attacks.
What they're doing can only be loosely interpreted. We don't know for certain what it means, so no one's going to agree. There's probably a better way for them to have done whatever it is they did, I agree, but since I don't know what they were going for, I don't know what it is.

Could have dropped the block of ice or something I guess. Or hit it with a magic wand. But would it have still broken? Dunno.

Whichever way you look at the ice thing, the fact that she's weak to Poison means she simply has to be a new type. Grass is the only type with a Poison weakness, and we already have Leafeon.

Unless she was only affected by poison, but not exactly weak to it, since some say they were testing to see if she was steel, so the wanted to see if she was immune.

Either way, we need someone who knows japanese to translate the full skit. I've seen way too many different versions to insinuates true and what isn't.

This, basically. I only wonder if the type actually IS fairy, or if its something totally unexpected.

Even though Pokemon Smash is very odd, the show still has valuable information.
The way Sylveon defeated the block of ice, but couldn't handle poison are too precise as reactions.

Whatever it turns out to be, the fact remains that Sylveon is weak to Poison. Since Sylveon obviously isn't a Grass-type, this means one of two things.

1: New type that's weak to Poison. Personally, my money's on Fairy-type at this point. I know Pokebeach's leaks aren't confirmed, but the fact that the guy called the Electric HP-draining move... that, in my opinion, is a little too lucky a guess to be just a guess.

2: Changes to the type chart, which will result in at least one pre-existing type gaining a Poison weakness. Then again, the only type that would really fit is Normal, given that Fighting is out, and I doubt they'd make Ice weak to Normal. Or anything weak to Normal, for that matter. Yeah, I'm gonna go with #1 here.
