This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards.

It has already been possibly confirmed where you start off in these games..

It's simple. By piecing together two images already provided, one can make a pretty good estimate at the very least where you don't start and the general area of where you will start.

First off, we have been provided with an image of the map as we all may know by now....

Next, a commonly overlooked image we were also provided shows us there will be three sections to the pokedex...

Now, combine the two together and you get something that looks like this...
http://vvcap.net/db/Sk01CMizddlg8CQ8iSVM.htp

Now, I have one last thing to add to the image before I blow your minds.. the second image reveals the person caught 9 pokemon in central and 2 in mountain kalos... so applying that information to our map.......

We probably start at the bottom, visit the town, and are able to travel to the right and get 1 or 2 mountain kalos pokemon, then seeing the elite 4 area is blocked off! similar to how generation 1 worked near that city giovanni was in.. you could explore the area to the left but couldn't go past it!

Furthermore, we are provided of a foresty image for the X legendary pokemon

and a cloudy sky image for the Y pokemon.

as hinted by someone earlier, this could hint at the legendarie's locations..

someone early in the game gets 6 central and 2 mountain... i highly doubt we'd start off in the center or any of those two towns. the only other choice would be the very top of the map, but that seems a bit odd how the trainer would catch 2 mountain pokemon from starting at the top, you know?

my explanation makes it logical, there;'s a small blocked off stop that allows an early perspective of some mountain pokemon

You have some valid points, but I dunno...unless they go with a less linear story, I don't see us being able to switch between sections that easily. They might have done it just to test for the image

I don't doubt those predictions, but they made it a little too easy to see where the whole story could go with this map.

gamxplane says teh starting town is at the top of the map and taht maks sense to me cuz blach blach blach

But seriously, the town at the bottom of the map really is the most likely starting area for a lot of reasons.

I think that the legendary location thing is a bit of a stretch, though...

I agree that the bottom is where we likely start. Bu I think the central area will be much larger. Mountain will start around the ice area and coastal will pretty much be eastern and maybe northern.

but a foresty place and a cloudy area.. not sure about the z pokemon though.

it just seems the blue region will have the blue legendary. but i don't know.

maybe xerneas can walk on water and that's why it's coastal or something

I think it's more likely that the clouds in the upper-right corner are hiding something (this happens a lot on the pre-release maps) and that's where we'll fight Xerneas and Yveltal.
