This is a split board - You can return to the Split List for other boards.

How come when you beat the elite four you don't become the champion?

The same guy you beat gets to be champion. How is that fair?

You do become champion. The game just doesn't make you fight to keep your title because having to return to the area regularly would probably wear thin.

That would actually be much more fun defending your title from worthy trainers

Whoa, yeah. Every now and then you get a phone call (or some kind of contact):

"You have a challenger at the Pokemon League."

The game would randomly generate a team of six fully-evolved Pokemon (no duplicates) and assign them to a trainer. You could also occasionally get challenges from E4 members or Gym Leaders with updated rosters.

If you win, great. If you lose you have to re-challenge the E4, but this time the Champion is whoever defeated you.

I wish they would make it so you had to go find the champion after you beat the Elite Four. Nothing too hard, maybe you met him earlier, definitely have the last Elite Four member tell you where he is. It would just make more sense that you wander if the Champion isn't just waiting at the League.

Brilliant idea!

Which means GF will probably never implement it.
