if you take out the trainer, his pokemon have no direction and guidance. their useless and just stands there; then his pokemon doesnt know what to do... so like they'll all just stand their and your pikachu can thunderbolt all his pokemon until they explode

Colosseum had Shadow Pokémon attacking Trainers, though it was only a single-turn forfeit for trying to have them use anything other than Shadow Rush while in Hyper Mode. That's about as close to the action as any Trainer ever needs to get.
Agreed, I don't exactly relish the opportunity of having an enemy Pokemon trying to attack me or my character, While I do dislike enemy trainers trying to fight me with an under-levelled team (a level 12 against a level 78 for example) I don't think its worth using Hyper Beam on them.
