Haven't played Pokemon since BW came (which i thought was the worst of the series) out and my DS is dead and i was looking at getting back into the Pokemon games.
Anyway they seem really expensive (there like $248 right?), does the 3ds have any cool features or are there any other good games apart from pokemon out yet?

The 3DS does have a lot of other good games, so you won't really be wasting it on just Pokemon.
That said, if you didn't like BW, you definitely won't like BW2 and probably won't like XY.
I HATE EVERYTHING
yes, especially that
If you're a true Pokemon fan you'll do anything for Pokemon.
But seriously do what's in your budget. Also the 3DS has tons of good games. Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, Tales of the Abyss if you're into JRPGS. Also they have a ton of good features.

I don't know where you live, but last time I checked horrible sales made the 3DS drop down by $80 to $160.
Anyways, there is much more than just Pokémon. Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 2, Kid Icarus Uprising, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and a bunch of eShop downloads.
Plus if you live in a city then StreetPass can be super fun.
3DS FC: 1478 3063 5795, Amphy. Add me, I play Mario Kart 7, Pokemon, Luigi's Mansion 2, and Swapnote! Official fairy of the Pokemon X boards.

For me, I am willing to buy a 3DS just to play this game regardless of new features on the system. To answer your question, it will be definitely worth it (Considering the fact that you still like playing Pokemon). Plus, this will be the first and most anticipated 3D Pokemon game in the handheld system.
If you were to buy one, try to wait for the limited edition 3DS of Pokemon X/Y. They might showcase a bundle pack with a cool design on it just like Palkia/Dialga DS Lite and Black/White Version Bundle.
You can find out what new features were added to Nintendo 3DS in the "Features" section.

Fire Emblem: Awakening, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Mario Kart 7, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and New Super Mario Bros. 2 are some good titles you should try out besides Pokemon X and Y. Also try the new Mystery Dungeon, I think it's called Guardians of the Sky or something, but yeah, there's some other games worth the 3DS too.

I'm buying a 3DS XL just to play my Pokemon Y version. I'm also buying other games to play on my 3DS, and I totally think it's worth it.
Fire Emblem alone will keep you occupied and is worth the 3DS I think. Other than that, go with your budget.
