So today, we'll discuss the Genesect-Kabutops Theory, and vote on yesterday's "Blue's Raticate" theory.

I'm going for busted here. The dialogue the theory claimes Blue said is not said.

See the full topic here:

Today we shall evaluate the Genesect Kabutops theory, which claims that Genesect is a modified Kabutops.

View the original theory here: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3mrknI24W1rvr3awo1_1280.png

I'm calling bull**** on this one. A coincidental pokedex entry similarity and a slightly similar body shape isn't really enough evidence to link the two.

EDIT: Again, nominate theories. If you mention them, I will use them before I go to my ideas.

Where does Kabutops' water type go? Surely, if they were the same, Genesect would know at least one water type move (not counting Douse Drive Techno Blast).

Where does Genesect's Bug type come from? Surely, if they were the same, we would see hints of this with Kabutops being able to learn more than one bug move.

I always saw Genesect as more of an ant-like creature. I will say the 300 Million years thing has me curious, but I would say I disagree with the assessment considering the body shapes really don't match.

I would love to see an armour-stripped Genesect forme, though.

The only thing that really makes me dislike this idea is that I don't really get where Genesect's Bug-type comes from. Personally, I think it's a Pokemon related to Kabutops and Scyther, but not actually either of them.

Similar to Scyther in that it's a Bug-type known for its speed and being capable of flying, whereas its hunting behaviour and movement is more like Kabutops, only adapted to aerial gliding rather than swimming due to its robotic upgrades. It has some similarities with both of their body types too.

Giovanni is Ash Ketchum's father.

This is actually cleared up in HG/SS. It's the Celebi event if you're interested (I won't spoil it for you).
