I'm doing a Pokemon Emerald Randomizer Nuzlocke Challenge

#1VladimirrPosted 6/3/2013 4:37:23 PM
I've never done a Nuzlocke challenge on any game before.

What are some of the must have rules?

- Only allowed to catch the first Pokemon you encounter on each route.
- Must nickname Pokemon
- If any Pokemon faint, they are considered "dead" and must release the Pokemon
- If all Pokemon faint in battle it's considered game over.

Any more I should add?

Also, if any of you are interested in my challenge, I could briefly document my adventure on here or would that be off topic?

You mean like Haydunn's run? That was awesome.

Yeah, I've seen his videos, made me want to do my own run.

Black out = game over is an optional rule. If you have reserves, it's perfectly legit to just use the reserves.

If Sony isn't stupid, they'll win the 8th console generation. But that's a big "if"...

Alright, thanks, but I think I'm going to use the blackout rule.

Also, you can permabox instead of releasing.

The answer to "Why not?" is always Wobbuffet.

The first pokemon you encounter rule doesn't apply to pokemon you already caught.

The Platypus, the reason games like spore exist.

You can always add the Rare Candy revive rule. I only use RCs when I need to revive a fallen Pokemon that's way too valuable to lose. 2 per game, but not on the same Poke.

Gotcha, the wild Pokemon will be different for the most part due to the randomizer. I'll just go with the basic rules.

I started up the game, name my character after my self. Few minutes later I was able to choose my stater. The three choices were: Ursaring, Rayquaza and Seviper. I picked Ursaring and pretty much annihilated the level 2 Zigzagoon with a fury of swipes. The brave nature adds insult to injury for this Ursaring. Nicknamed it "Mama Bear" after the Berenstain Bears, feel like it was fitting because it's a female Ursaring.

That's pretty much all I'm doing for now.
