mono ice. it does absolutely nothing. nothing at all. no strengths, a subpar stab, absolutely no worthwhile resistances and a ton of hindering weaknesses.

AT LEAST rock/fire gets a sp.def boost from sand and ice/flying can be neutral to fight and immune to ground. those are still the 2 runner ups for second worst though.

I agree than mono Ice has awful weaknesses to common moves and no resistances (its only resistant to its own type), but to say it has no strengths seems a bit prejudiced. They get precious SE damage on Dragons (which is even better when you factor that quite a few Dragons have secondary Flying type), and as an attacking type they can do quite well. (A lot of Pokemon that can learn Ice type moves very often carry them as coverage, particularly Water types who almost all get Ice Beam)

People trying to be funny while bashing a certain Pokemon.

Bug/Grass may not be doubly weak to Rock, but has 2 double weaknesses (and in Gen 1, made that three double weaknesses).

And if any type combo totally crippled by SR is the worst, Ice/Flying sounds even worse to me than Fire/Flying.

Fire/Flying is only notorious because Charizard is the most SR crippled pokemon around. Ho-Oh and Moltres don't rely on HP draining strategies, so they aren't hindered as much.

It's still a rather terrible typing, since Rock moves is carried for coverage on so many things. Even before SR was introduced, it was considered horrid defensively.

Also, both of the other Fire/Flying mons get by only because of several factors not related directly to their typing.

1. Massive Stats.
2. In the case of Ho-Oh, an exceptional ability and Sacred Fire with it's 50% burn rate.

Not really. I'd say it's slightly worse than Fire/Fighting. And better than fire with dark, ghost, rock, bug, or psychic.

Bad weaknesses are everywhere. Scizor hates fire. Tyranitar hates fighting. Heatran hates ground. To call out a type just because of one or two common weaknesses is a bit harsh
