I've always hated em in JRPGs...
It would be cool to actually see pokemon wandering around in the grass...

Probably not, and it doesn't bother me too much. At least I never have to wait for things to respawn in Pokemon.

While seeing pokemon run around would be cool. Be thankful the encounters only happen in tall grass, caves, etc. In Legend of Dragoon another jrpg you had this triangle above your head that goes from green/blue?-->yellow-->red and red means an encounter which happens anywhere.

Well it's unnecessary and irritating. I can't be that hard to have rare pokemon randomly spawn at certain rates. Or to respawn by going to another screen. I'm tired of having to run around in circles blindly...
