Do you think Game Freak understands Fairy Type isn't enough to fight Dragons?

This is the company that thought, for 2 two generations, that Stealth Rock was perfectly balanced, but Toxic Spikes, which three types and several abilities are immune too, needed to be nerfed by having it be absorbed instantly on switching a poison Pokemon in.

This is the company that thought that having Ice type have four weakness and one resistance was perfectly fair, (And before you cry OFFENSIVE TYPE! OFFENSIVE TYPE! OFFENSIVE TYPE! Look at the base stats of most ice type Pokemon. Unless you have a specific interview with a GameFreak Employee, stating in no uncertain terms that Ice was supposed to be "a good offensive type balanced by bad defensive typing" you cannot convince me that GameFreak thought that the type was perfectly balanced defensively, given the incredible number of defensive pokemon with ice type.)

In short, I have very little faith in GameFreak's ability to balance anything. You know a way they could have weakened dragons while helping other types? Make Ice resist Dragon.

Ice needs to resist Dragon and Fairy.

really? we also have dragons and ice to kill dragons. We dont even need this new type. This is coming from someone who uses 0 dragons and love to fight dragon teams and tear them up.

There is not good or bad, just perspective and opinion.

Damn. They really should change that though. If you committed, you committed, whether it effects the target shouldn't matter.

no because that would just be stupid

Why would it be stupid? If you shoot a bullet at armor and it doesn't do damage, should you get the bullet back? You committed when using the attack, you shouldn't get a do over because it didn't work out.

Outrage is 120 damage (180 after STAB) with still only 2 types in the game that are resist/immune (if Fairy is in fact immune). It wouldn't even be unfair from a balance perspective.

If nothing else, Dragon immunity will bring a swift end to Outrage's widespread use, because anyone that has played a competitive battle in their life knows how sharply downhill a battle can go when you're movelocked into something that won't even do enough to negate leftovers recovery.

As of this moment there are no other physical dragon attacks anywhere near the versatility of Outrage, power or otherwise.

Do not underestimate the effect that forcing type coverage into pseudolegend movepools will have. Would the dragons EVER carry Iron Head otherwise? Garchomp has Earthquake, but I'll be VERY surprised if we don't get even one Fairy Poke with Levitate.

Like has been said, giving them inherent immunity to Dragon itself nerfed them tremendously already.

An infant sea turtle is actually capable of killing an adult African bull elephant. It does, however, require a substantial amount of surprise.

If Fairy isn't immune to Dragon, it doesn't matter if it's Super Effective against it. Dragon will tear a hole in it with Outrage/Draco Meteor, and Dragon will be just as OP as it ever was in Gen VI. Dragons and their STAB Outrage/Draco Meteor are so powerful they can punch holes even in Pokemon who resist their STAB, namely Steel-Types.

If GF is serious about making Dragon Types less broken and more manageable to face without arbitrarily weakening their moves, Fairy needs to be immune to Dragon-Type moves. It's that or another generation of "Press Outrage To Win".

I know Dragon is meant to be the "Super" Type that is rare and hard to raise, but there's a difference between being merely strong, and just being plain ridiculous to where a good majority of Pokemon and playstyles are useless. Fairy will not stop Dragons from being powerful if they are immune to them, but the days of Dragon Spam are coming to an end.
