Defenses or HP?

Suppose

Pokemon 1: 130 HP, 80 Defenses bold/calm 31 ivs in all stats 252 sp def

Pokemon 2: 110HP, 100 Defenses bold/calm 31 ivs in all stats 252 sp def

If they are both water type, how much would a thunderbolt from a modest, 252 sp atk magnezone do to both of them? Which one would resist the attack better?

Pokemon 1 would take 428 - 506 damage, roughly 115 - 136%. Guaranteed OHKO

Pokemon 2 would take 422 - 498 damage, roughly 115 - 136%. Guaranteed OHKO

I rounded all the percentages up, and they ended up being the same. Pokemon 2 actually took about .3% less damage, but the difference is negligible. I go for HP for leftovers, subs, rounding, etc.

btw, here's a helpful tool for you.

^ I actually input the values wrong, but the calculator should still work, as long as you're willing to run through ti yourself.

Ignore my calculations!

Where did that damn edit button go?
