I'm excited about the new type but I think the name is dumb. It's gonna have to grow on me.

Sure, something like Fae would've sounded better, but you have to remember Nintendo's target audience for the Pokémon games. Fairy-type is simple and to-the-point. Clefairy, Clefable, Snubull, and Granbull's shared classification, an egg group that those four Pokemon belong to, and now the new type are all originally named Yo(u)sei in Japanese. All those things other than the type had been localized as "Fairy" in the English versions. It's only ever referred to ingame as the "Foreign Building." Nintendo has a long track history of removing religious references in games, even with Pokemon. A type called "Holy" would never fly. --- [Este mensaje fue borrado al deseo del dueno]
