Do you think the average age of Pokemon fans has been rising?

basically what I'm saying is I started with Blue when i was 7. I've played at least 1 game in each gen since then. I'm 20 now and hyped for X and Y. Do you think there are a lot of people like me out there? Do you think 20 year olds played the gen 1 games? do you think new 7 year olds are going to pick up the gen 6 games as a starting place and be hooked for the future, or do the new poke games mostly appeal only to fans of the series?

yes i think the average age is somewhere about 16. and im slightly disappointed that GF doesnt react. well not in terms of "the game is too childish for me" but in terms of "hey guys, you could be even more successful and you could please your fans even more if you raised the bar a little"

The anime is what draws in the new kids to the series in the first place.

My nephews and nieces love Pokemon like Oshawott and Krookidile. But they've been exposed to older Pokemon via the TCG and older DVDs as well as GBA games I let them play. The average age is about the same, but the influx of older fans increases a little as well.

I think the average age of video game players in general rises all the time, and even more so with Pokemon.

I think the average age of Pokemon fans has remained relatively constant (at what have you, maybe 9-13). Sure, there are always people who will pick up the games at a younger or older age, and there are those who started with gen. 1 at whatever age, but that's going to be the case during each generation.

Since Pokemon was created to appeal to a younger audience, that's the age group you'll see flocking to it until GF decides to market a more mature Pokemon title.

Going by the GameFAQs boards the average age seems to be about eleven.

it's increased slightly

the fans from the 90's have grown up, but the newer games still attract younger players. a bit ago i ran into some grade school kids fangasming over X&Y at target

If TGC tournaments are any indication, there's a whole lotta 20-25 Pokemon fans.
