Will Pokemon X be like The Last of Us?

#1Jarred623Posted 6/17/2013 12:21:46 PM
Will it be like an interactive movie?
Will the story be more evolved than your typical game?
I know most pokemon games have really bad stories, but gen 5 seemed to start to improve the story.
Will Gen 6 be movie quality?
Or does it have a long time to go before then?

Does a Beartic sleep in the forest?
Do Mr. Mimes mime?
Can Tyranitars REALLY level mountains?

All very good questions.

I don't know what The Last of Us is like. Wannabe-cinematic shooters kind of wore out on me after the billionth one last generation, so I'm just sticking to my RPGs.

Not even a Nintendo vs. Sony vs. Microsoft thing, I'm just mostly looking forward to handheld titles and indy PC games like SMTIV and Barkley 2, plus a few of the big WRPGs and MMOs like Elder Scrolls Online.

Pokemon is probably better off staying as Pokemon. If they want to make a more cinematic Pokemon, I'd say it'd be best off in the hands of Genius Sonority or some other studio. Nintendo and Gamefreak specialise in fun, kid-friendly games and they're fine that way.

The Last of Us is so ridiculously far from being a pew pew game. It's pure survival. The game has a very high emphasis on stealth and alternative forms of combat besides just waving your guns around hoping to hit something. Ammo is too scarce for that.

That being said, I didn't like it. Game was too hard and frustrating. I think I'm just going to go back to my JRPG roots. The genre that got me into gaming so long ago and never got old to me.

I agree with the first half. There were also some scary and intense parts in the game. I'm only more than halfway thru.

And its not really overrated either. Its not supposed to be a guns a blazing shooter.

Its supposed to be a survival game, which it does awesome at being one while also giving me an interesting story.

If the last of us is overrated, your looking too deep into it, cuz it does everything its supposed too as a survival game.

That's my opinion though.
