Yes, still own them. My first, pokemon Red, is (i think) sitting comfortably with my old game boy brick somewhere :)
My memory on my pokemon ruby don't work anymore but still keep it too :)

Yes, I still have my original pokemon gold. The internal battery went dry some time ago, though. I had always intended to go back and finish the dex since I was only missing 4 or 5 mons, but...too late now.

Still, more than a decade, a remake, and 649 pokemon later in white, its a very tolerable loss.

I still own a copy of Pokemon Red, yes. In fact, I still have all my Pokemon games, and only Silver and Crystal have dead batteries.

Wow, this is exactly my case too

Same, but I also have Blue, Yellow and Gold and last I checked, Crystal still worked.

No. Pokémon Sapphire, my first Pokémon game, I borrowed from a friend. I eventually returned it. Pokémon Ruby, the first Pokémon game I ever owned, was sold years ago.

I was too poor to buy Blue, and I couldn't get a job because I was 12--so I borrowed it. I unfortunately had to give it back a few months later. But damn, those were an amazing few months

I'm not easily impressed; I'm usually oblivious to whatever's in front of me.

Sad story, but also an easy rookie mistake. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes a mistake like that for people to learn that electronics and water don't mix.

Not that it was the case with you of course. Sometimes people also forget for a moment, but that's all that it takes unfortunately.

Looking forward to Pokemon X and Y.
