I. Want. A. Mantis. Shrimp.

You guys know we just got a pistol shrimp, right? And that pistol shrimps are badass for the exact same reasons mantis shrimps are? In the rankings of loudest animals in the sea, it goes something like sperm whale, beluga whale, and ****ing pistol shrimp. They snap their claws with such force that it releases a sonic boom, sending out a jet of boiling water at their target, and briefly causing temperatures to rise so high that there's a flash of light (which you may recognize as exactly what the mantis shrimp does, except he turns it into a gun).

Asking for a mantis shrimp immediately after getting a pistol shrimp... Man, you guys just can't appreciate greatness.

They talk about badass but what about the Megalodon shark? That thing is just scary.

Looking at a picture of a mantis shrimp... There is no way pokemon can make this thing and not make it look derpy.

Megalodon shark is badass, yes, but it doesn't see rainbows as thermonuclear bombs of light, color, and death.

Besides, how would you tell it apart from other shark pokemon? Megalodons are cool, yes, but IMO the mantis shrimp is better.

I approve the need for a mantis shrimp.

What, you mean the ONE shark Pokemon we already have, which is already really stylized and weird looking? And no, I don't count Garchomp, because it's land-based. But even if you do count that, then there's only two.

Sorry, I meant to ask how you would tell it was a Megalodon instead of some other shark. Megalodons are cool, but the were basically really big sharks. Apart from size, it's hard to differentiate them.

Maybe if they made it a fossil pokemon? It's pokedex entry could be on how it nommed anything it wanted in the ocean. I suppose that would be pretty cool.

Yo, yo; what happened here? I wake up and I see people arguing viciously over T-rexs. I thought Rampardos was a T-rex.

Also, I like clauncher, but I like MANTIS SHRIMPS better cuz, like I said before, they're a frickin rainbow and have MURDER STICKS. It and Clauncher would make the best duo EVER.

Yes, this. Mantis shrimps shall become the greatest pokemon of all time, even beating Arceus with no trouble.

Though Rampardos isn't a T. Rex. Can't remember what exactly, but it was some kind that had a bone plate over its skull. Anyways, the T. Rex argument is (hopefully) over, so we can continue discussing the awesome that is the mantis shrimp.

Now, lets see something else throw a baseball into orbit.

I don't know I think game freak could make it work pretty well. I mean first off clauncher looks pretty amazing. 2nd, yanma is my example of a derpy Pokemon and yanmega is the example of the right way to design a dragonfly.

I'd imagine something with high attack, above average def, high speed, low special attack, low special def, and medium health.

I'd say water fighting suits it very well. Fire and water? Meh. I'd save fire water type for a different Pokemon.

Abilities would range alot, hyper cutter, sheer force, shell armor, etc.

Over all, I'd say there's a high chance clauncher will be a mantis shrimp evolution. I say that from the fact it's very popular in Japan as a sushi dish and exotic pets. Also since we have had kingler (crab) and crawdaunt (crayfish) means they will probably stay with a shrimp theme. Either that or go a lobster route but with it looking so close to crawdaunt I'd say its doubtful.

Also, no one doubts that pistol shrimps are cool, but mantis shrimps are cooler. I've had 2 mantis shrimps over the last 6 years and I've had a few pistol shrimp before them. The mantis shrimp was much more entertaining.

Psycho (mantis shrimp) is very fast and entertaining to watch. I throw crabs and snails in every week to make him work for his food and when he attacks them it sounds like someone throwing a quarter at the wall. He's extremely fast and likes to chase the laser pointer around.

Come on game freak and give me a mantis shrimp Pokemon!
