Will the final types of the starters lines be consistent with Pokebeaches leak?

I certainly hope so.

Although we did think Oshawott would turn out Water/Fighting because it knew Revenge.

I STILL can't understand why it didn't...

Because when we'd have two /Fighting starters.

Make Emboar Fire/Dark, problem solved.

http://pokebeach.com/2013/06/pokebeach-x-y-rumor-roundup-and-clarifications

There were 3 sets of rumours. Its only the 3rd set (one with Inkay etc) thats faulty because by then WPM's source had been busted and they were trying to cover his tracks. But the first two sets have been spot-on.

Funnily enough, he went out of his way to stress the starter types after a slight error was made. So this part of the credible rumour is the LEAST likely to be wrong! Once again its a case of people not believing something because they don't like what they see. More than thinking its actually wrong. Was way worse last gen though with the leaked starter designs.

But what gets me here is that many people had previously been craving this exact rumoured type trio for ages. -_-

Basically, I believe what the rumour says.

(and making it Grass/Rock opens up a new can of worms - it's not weak to Fire.)

You know what it IS weak to?

I was fully convinced of the leak's legitimacy as soon as the names for Helioptile and co. were officially confirmed, and thus far, subsequent reveals have only served to boost the leak's credibility. Therefore I no longer take it with a grain of salt, and will be very, very surprised if the starters turn out to have type combinations other than Grass/Dark, Fire/Psychic, and Water/Fighting.

On another note, Fennekin's knowledge of Psychic doesn't further confirm things, given that many non-Psychic types can learn Psychic moves (Ariados can learn Psychic, Nuzleaf can learn Extrasensory, the male Nidoran can learn Confusion). But on the other hand, it certainly does nothing to dispel the notion of Fennekin becoming part Psychic.

So what? Not only do I feel this was never relevant in the first place, we're talking about dualtypes on existing starters. If you can't come up with a way for a Fire/Psychic Pokemon to take down a Grass/Dark Pokemon, you're not thinking about this hard enough.

because sometimes people switch pokemon. sometimes even during a turn. and sometimes pokemon have different speed stats.

And again, so? There are Pokemon immune to Grass, Fire, and Water (not all three, I mean each individually), and no one cares about that.

I don't know. From a topic I read, it seems like WPM's source gave him false info along with real info (though it could be the guy covering his ass if some of the things he said don't happen). So, not all the info in the leak may be true.

that's what leakers always do if his source was real it wouldn't provide him with fake info.
he probally made up some stuff and that's it. lucky guesses don't prove anything.

Water/Fighting wouldn't be ideal either. When I think Water/Fighting, I think Poliwrath. I hate Poliwrath. Give me a Water/Flying weather spirit with Drizzle as his HA.

*sigh* It's still not weak to Grass, just as it wasn't weak to Grass any of those other times I mentioned it. If Froakie becomes Water/Flying - never mind that this doesn't even make sense! - then you're forcing Chespin's hand with Grass/Electric (or Grass/Rock, but then Fennekin's hand gets forced too... and probably to Fire/Fighting. -_-)
