Why are BP teams considered a gimmick?

There are obviously ways to avoid being phazed, so what's the issue? I've used a BP team, but it was a themed eeveelution team, not a serious one.

If a single Pokémon in the chain is taken out, it pretty much ruins the chances of success. Essentially a single strong attack, or crit ruins it entirely.

Because they are a gimmick, and once the strategy is torn down/broken apart, there's usually nothing a BP team can fall back on.

Countless times I face BP team and they ragequit when they don't get their set up.

Don't most BP teams have a way to deal with every of those options but Haze?

Well, the BP team I built wasn't centered around a chain but around Stored Power. Espeon had the speed to hold it's own, while Glaceon had the defenses. So basically, I had to get a chain of anything. It didn't have to be a specific boost.

I remember facing off against my friends Eeveeloution BP team with my Thick Club Marowak back in Stadium 2.

I started with Marowak and he with Jolteon (no doubt planning to pass an Agility boost or T-Wave my starter). He panicked and brought out his recipient to counter me: Mewtwo. I crit EQ'd him on the switch and he quit immediately lol

Good times...good times...

If you're an idiot. My BP team is built around 3 passers. two of which cannot attack, one of which can sweep by itself. Then 3 sweepers to pass to, both physical sweepers, and special. All three of them can buff THEMSELVES and sweep full teams if they need to. My team is immortal to all common threats other than haze.
