I'm pretty sure if a snake or something spray venom on a rock and you touched it, you will get infected.
So technically you can poison a rock.

I prefer you talk to me only in Ye Olde Englishe like a good chap because language can never evolve.

The poison seeps through the Pokemon's rocky body due to cracks and whatnot. This is unlike the Steel type, which lets the poison bounce or slide off the Pokemon's body harmlessly.

But acids and such (such as the move Acid) should make steel compounds degenerate

True, but I take moves like Acid to be in the same boat as a move like Bonemerang, where they should logically hit Pokemon that are immune to their type but don't for the sake of consistency...

There is a lot of type things that don't make sense in this game.

If bug is super effective to dark because most bugs are nocturnal, then why would fighting be super effective is its suppose to be "good guy beats bad guy?"

Why isn't ice super effective bug? I guess they hid in the ground, but isn't ground weak to ice?

Why is ground super effective against poison. I don't even know this one.

Why is ground super effective against steel? Steel is actually a very ductile metal, shaking would do nothing.

Why is flying super effective against fighting. Is it because they can't jump?

It's almost makes sense if you symbolize the types.

NORMAL - Defenseless human, easily beat by fighter hero, can't interact with ghost
FIRE - Flames, quelled by water and mud-ground etc...
WATER - Water
ELECTRIC - Electric
GRASS - Grass
ICE - Ice crystal, hurt wings of birds, dragons are naturally weak to cold weather
FIGHTING - The hero who easily defeats dark forces and has great breaking power
POISON - Corrosive acid, burns acid? Filtered into the ground? Cleared by psychic?
GROUND - Mud-Shaking stuff?
FLYING - Literally a bird
PSYCHIC - Being with mental focus, susestible to fear
BUG - Bug
ROCK - Rock that is hard, but not sturdy
GHOST - Ghost creates fear, can't interact with humans
DRAGON - Being that masters all elements, still weak to extreme weather
DARK - Evil?!

Ground is strong against poison because mud & stuff has been used to absorb toxins for the skin, or something like that

What makes no sense is rock being strong to fire, i think it should be retconned, it made ikhanic happy as well. I can't imagine smashing a fire with a boulder does anything really

Oh good, another "this doesn't make sense" post.

Because Pokemon REALLY needed one more of these.
