The rocks disappear after xth turn.

Do you think a turn limit would fix the OP'ness of SR?

Halve all damage dealt by SR.

Only allow it to be used in-game.

That would be some great trolling on Gamefreak's part. XD

This. It'd still be a good defensive move in its own right, but not SO centralizing.

Well, well, well... What do we have here?

Being able to use rock/steel/grounds to remove it without spin would be nice, too. :/

Except the typing wouldn't be bad if Stealth Rock and Competitive Metagame didn't mean the same thing.

SR cripples defensive pokes who're supposed to be able to take a single non-stab hit from their weaknesses without flinching.

Fire/Flying is decent in theory, because of STAB overheat and hurricane potential (Albeit charizard cannot get Hurricane. Moltres can though).

Bug/Fighting neutralizes the rock weakness, but at the same time, Heracross is physically frail.

Bug type could have more potential if switching in didn't equate to losing 12~25% of your hp.

Enough types and type combos take good enough damage from rock moves that SR is basically a catch-all entry hazard.

Then imagine Stealth Icicle. 50% damage to all the garchomps, salamences and dragonites out there. Not to mention 25% damage to basically any other dragon type pokemon.

Does having a x4 weakness really make a pokemon bad? Scizor, Tyranitar these two are commonly used despite their weaknesses to fire and fighting respectively.

So, do the fire/flying and others x4 weak to rock-type have bad typing... just because Gamefreak decided to put SR in the game?
