I guess Goldeen isn't a fish.

I guess Geodude isn't a living rock.

I guess Beedrill isn't an insect.

Saying "They're Pokemon" is the biggest copout when it comes to explaining the logic behind typing, etc.

Well for one I didn't know there was a Fish type
Yes, my name is supposed to be "SoleEater" and not "Soul Eater".

There isn't.

But by your logic, Goldeen isn't a fish. Because it's a Pokemon.

Then your argument is just confusing and meaningless. Zigzagoon can't be "a normal" because "normal" is an adjective. Zigzagoon is a normal animal, however. And fairy is a noun, so "How is Sylveon a fairy?" is a perfectly reasonable question (oh, it can be answered, sure. But it's a question that makes sense.)

What I'm saying is...

Someone asks

"How is Marill a fairy?"

Marill isn't a fairy, there are no fairies in Pokemon. Marill is a Marill, it is just a fairy type.

Technically Dragon types aren't even dragons, they're Pokemon too, but dragon type.

So are you just arguing against their phrasing then? Because I legitimately question why Marill is Fairy type, I think it's stupid.

I'm saying Fairy is just a type. There is no rules of what a Pokemon has to look like to be of a certain type.

Okay then. How is [insert pokemon] a fairy type pokemon?
The surest way not to lose is to not play, but where's the fun in that?
If words are power, you'd think that dictionaries would be more interesting.

Well technically it isn't, but it's obviously based on a fish.

Fairy is in its name, and its category is FAIRY pokemon, I'll be very surprised if it doesn't get the Fairy type thrown in.
I only deal with 100% legit/uncloned pokemon in trades.

It's a fish that happens to be a Pokemon as well.

I've have always heard (and said) things like "Dratini is a dragon", "Butterfree is a bug", "Mismagius is a ghost" and even "Abra is a psychic". They're not gramatically incorrect and they seem to make sense to a lot of people. Now I say "Flabebé is a fairy".

I don't think people should/will change the way they talk about pokémon just because you don't like it...
