Remember back when Fairy type was just speculation, and everyone was saying...

that fairy would be an awesome type because it's only a stereotype that fairies are these cute little tinkerbell-like creatures. Welp so far every fairy typed pokemon is one of those cute little tinkerbell-like creatures.

Where are the non-stereotypical fairies at?

Xerneas.

Gardevoir.

If you're going with the tinkerbell stereotype example, anything over 5 inches tall breaks the stereotype. Besides, Tinkerbell is an emotional wreck. She only has two settings: Extreme Love and Extreme Rage. Get her mad and you die. XD

Well, the fairies that most people are looking for are probably going to be near the end of the dex/legendaries, and so far the only "badass" pokemon we've seen is Noivern, who looks like he has the potential to be a late-game mon, so there's no use bringing this topic up until we know the entire dex.

But it's cool, not little, and not tinkerbell-like.

You do realize they tend to just focus on the "cute" Pokemon when advertising, right?

The book establishes that she's only able to experience one emotion at a time, resulting in her having fits of rage where she wants to murder whoever bugs her.

It has rainbow leaves on top of it's man-antlers. Why do you think hunters love shooting Buck so much? Their horns are amazingly tough and make nice trophies. Therefore, it's a manly and tough rainbow.

In short: Nobody really cares how "manly" stuff is.
