japanese children can be exposed to death and sex in their culture, why cant our kids?!
Because we have an entirely different culture.
Yes, but the fact still remains that these themes clearly don't corrupt the youth as overbearing parents here might think. Children from other cultures growing up exposed to these themes don't grow up morally repressed and sheltering children as much as we do is just unnecessary.
Unfortunately, most people are morons and instead of parenting, they blame video games for their childrens' problems. It is just a part of our society, so video game makers have no choice but to censor things like the ferris wheel or the word "death." It sucks, I know.

I don't see the problem. There were at least a few references to death in Gen V. One man in particular, when you're on the way to Victory Road in B2/W2. He's in a house alone with a Haxorus, and says something along the lines of "This is my last Pokemon. I don't want to kick the bucket and leave it here alone." That's not the only reference to death in the games, either. To be honest, I thought the Black and White games were downright dark at times (at least when it comes to some of the NPCs), compared to the rest of the series.
So, once again, what's wrong with including the word "death," when they certainly have no problem TALKING about death?
(With that said, Oblivion Wing is definitely a better name than Death Wing, I just don't see the problem with the word "death")
