Put that sucker in Doubles with a Skill Swapper/pokemon that can neutralize abilities and go to town.

But I just wanted to mess around in singleplayer, nothing else.

Lots of Pokemon can't learn Skill Swap. It's usually Psychic-type Pokemon that can.

thats the flaw with those abilities, sure they offer balance to beasts (which ironically people call foul play when you suggest an alternate ability for them, but other beast remain unbalanced) but they keep casual players that just enjoy the design from getting to really enjoy some pokemon.
dandelion + flabebe + fairy wind = saddest moment in pokemon.

Well in Gen V you can use Cofagrigus, have it pass Mummy onto the enemy, then switch into Slaking and pick up Mummy from the enemy.

Other than that you only have Double Battles.
