It's not necessary to tell our age at the start of each generation, we can just tell our age at the start of the first one and you can do the math to determine the rest. I was almost 6 when Red and Green were released in Japan and 8 when Red and Blue were released worldwide. I started playing video games when I was 4 so it's pretty obvious that I was already playing Pokémon at 8 years old.

Hardcore Gamer Since 1994

True I guess that would make things more simple.

Not sure, all I have is this info:

Was 7 when started with gen 1.

Then I played Emerald, then Silver. (Pretty sure this is 2004-2005-2006, so 9 or 10 or 11 year old)

Then in 2008 played Diamond. I think I was in 7th when I first played Diamond, so can't be sure if it is 2008.

In 2011 (14 or 15 years old I guess?), in japanese played White. Played Black 2 a few months back, I'm 16, will turn 17 next month.

So my experience is of one decade.

I'm going to use the original Japanese dates of when each generation started according to Bulbapedia.

Gen I - February 27, 1996: Wasn't born yet.

Gen II - November 21, 1999: 2

Gen III - November 21, 2002: 5

Gen IV - September 28, 2006: 9

Gen V - September 18, 2010: 13

Gen VI - October 12, 2013: I'll be 16 by then.

My first generation for me was Gen IV in 2007, my first game was Diamond.

I was 11 at gen 1, I've missed several generations but I'm thinking about starting gen 6 mostly due to nostalgia and improved visuals, I'll be 26 when it's released. Talk about feeling old.
