Honestly, I believe that the fairy-type could be as gamebreaking as Psychic-types from Gen I. With the introduction of a new type, and even adding it on to already existing pokemon, will change the game significantly. Then again, GF may just be using the new type as pandering to the fans who say pokemon is the same every new generation. --- TL;DR The post above is too short.
Dark and Steel were pretty lousy in their introductory Gen. I don't expect Fairy to fare any better. --- If you need instructions on how to get through the hotels, be sure to check the enclosed instruction book
It's meant to bring Dragon-type down a notch. If the rumors of it being weak to Poison and Steel are true, it'll definitely help balance the metagame. --- That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.

I think the problem with Dark and Steel was that there were simply not enough useful moves or strong Pokemon to make them very potent. With this generation, Xerneas is a confirmed legendary who will wreck havoc on Ubers most likely, and moves like Moonblast have the potential to be powerful.
I don't think they'll be OP, but they will change the metagame for sure. --- If I had a superpower, it would be the ability to defy logic.
