I'm not a genwunner, and no one has made a counter-argument to what the point is of comparing gens when the games of gens 3 and 4 have very little in common, and the games of gen 5 have several different aspects as well. --- Not changing this sig until we get a new main series Tales game released on a Nintendo console in the US

Gen 5. After voting, I expected it to be low... but I'm surprised that it's leading right now! --- I am a Christian, and proud of it. Founder of the deviantArt Noivern Fan Club! http://noivern-fan-club.deviantart.com/

Why didn't you just put best game, then gen three would win for best region. --- Bowser is a Tarasque and Magmar is a legend

Gen 5 for many reasons. First, the most amount of pokemon in any pokemon game. Second, the gameplay is much smoother, more fast-paced which I loved. Anything before it feels very sluggish now. Unova is my favorite location. I personally think the designs of the new pokemon in gen 5 were some of the best designed pokemon in the entire series. The overall gameplay is just the best in my opinion and gen 6 only looks to be better. --- 3DS FC: 3609-1124-3955

gen 3 I think had the biggest impact on the pokemon series. --- GT: Scorpion0489 Currently playing: Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, Skyrim, Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm

Gen three was my first, so I'm a little biased, but I still actually am leaning to Gen 4.
The bottom screen in that game was really cool. The C-GEAR took it too far for people who didn't want to be connected to random players all the time. But the levels went really high for evolutions and the like... --- Official President of the The National Association for the Preservation of Manikins (SMT: Nocturne)

I count FR/LG and HG/SS as gen 1 and 2 respectively, since they have their pokémon and areas, just with updated mechanics.
