They've said they won't make a console version, and honestly I really want a console version that lets you play through the first season, or two (well nothing past johto...)

Well they can always get those that mainly developed Colosseum or maybe Hal to make a console game.
Mainly people who ever touched Pokémon already.

Do you mean a console version of the gen 1 games?
A familiar note is produced.
It's the note Desolation plays to keep its instrument in tune

Close, but I'd want it being more like the cartoon than the Gen 1 layout was. Plus I'd like it to go through the indigo league, and Johto.

Try Pokémon: Ash Gray version, as what you're asking for will never actually happen.

What do you feel like the difference between the anime and the gen 1 games are? The only major difference are the fake towns and a crapload of characters that don't really do anything after their episode.

I guess they can add a dodge function or have an option to use your attacks on inanimate objects or force you to play with Ash's pokemon and be Ash yourself?

But other than that, what will be different between your idea and just a console pokemon game based on Gen 1 and Gen 2?

If it follows the tv show it'll be more story oriented. Plus on the console it'd be more visually immersive. I'd like a battle system closer to Ni No Kuni's. I wouldn't want it holding your hand the whole game forcing you to use Ash's pokemon, or anything. I just want it following his story in his world for nostalgia sake. The Wii U is powerful enough to run a game that looks like the cartoon, and the Wii U gamepad would make a perfect pokedex. There's no better generation for a console Pokemon rpg.
