Do pokemon get older?

Is there any difference between a young and old pokemon in the anime? because afaik pikachu could be hundreds of years old before oak gave it to ash

I don't know if Pokemon age. Perhaps the Pokemon levels are technically their age?

In the pokemon adventures manga, Mr. Fuji's doduo died because it was old. Also theres the pokemon tower. I would assume some die to natural causes, id doubt that they all died due to poke-murder :p

i dont think levels could represent their age, otherwise my level 100 nidoking would be as old as arceus :p

I seem to recall people referencing pokemon dying of old age in the games (lavender tower et al), but I don't think we've ever seen one look particularly older than another of the same species, although that;s more a limitation of the games than anything else.

Cemeteries exist in the game, and in the 1st season some Surfer dude had a Pikachu for a long time and showed signs of aging so yes.

Joltik, yanma, caterpie - 5 days
Wailord, mewtwo, venusaur- hundreds of years
Steelix, aggron, ho-oh - immortal.

there was that story in platinum of a guy murdering pokemon with a new sword, and mr. Fuji's dodou died. So we know pokemon die, which means some had be of old age.
