Questions from a gamer who has been long absent from Pokemon

I wouldn't recommend buying a 3DS just for this game. Fortunately, there are plenty of great games for the system.
The Platypus, the reason games like spore exist.

Pokemon X
Tales of Abyss
Kid Icarus
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
Monster Hunter 3
Super Smash Brothers
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies

here's a nice list of games/future already declared games to push for the 3DS sales...
Nintendo? PlayStation? no...

on the whole co-op front which seems to be what the TC wants

battle tower will probably have double battles were you and you GF can pair up to face the tower challenge

True, there's always been some sort of link up with the Battle Tower/Subway for co-op. Not to mention there is always each game's "minigame" that HAS to have a multiplayer option.

Still, you haven't played since Blue? Man, I was 14/15 when that came out. That's like half a lifetime ago to me.

Also, that list of games posted before is worth the investment in a 3DS. Not to mention all the regular DS games you can both get and play.
Currently playing: Pokemon Plat/HG(492/492, 5 Star Black Trainer Cards), Street Fighter 3(Xbox online sparingly)

The battle tower part has me interested, and I will look into it.

I think I was 11 when pokemon blue came out, so yeah it has been quite a while...

If I do pick up a 3DS I will probably look into some of those games, but as I said I'm really not a handheld gamer, and neither is she except for pokemon (No, I am not trying to start a Handheld vs. Console vs. PC argument so please don't go there).

Thank you again for everyone's input, and for making my first post on the forums a positive and enlightening one.

Well, we don't know if the seasons will be returning yet.

They probably will, thanks to Deerling and Sawsbuck.
