MegaAmpharos is still more of a dragon than charizard.

Gotta love how everybody naturally assumes, without question even, that he and Gyarados are getting a type change, when every single type add-on/retcon except one, was done with things that only had one type to begin with. Indeed, look at every single type retcon this gen....

MegaCharizard will
A. Almost certainly exist.
B. Almost certainly be Fire/Dragon.

And people will almost certainly rage.

Rage over what?

"except one" invalidates that reasoning, though...

If it can happen once it can happen 50 more times.

It means the chances are much lower. But thats not the problem. What gets me is that most people are taking it as a given when they should be very cautious.

That one instance was Rotom, which is also the only time there was an in-generation retcon too. All the rest happened at the start of a new gen. So the whole thing felt very one-off-ish.

You realize most of the people talking about getting a MegaCharizard are joking, right?

No they're not. MegaCharizard is pretty likely since they like to give the starters equal treatment as seen with Pledge moves and elemental beams. Fire/Dragon on the other hand.....

To be fair, the elemental beams were exclusive to the Gen 1 starters until Gen 4. The exception was Gen 2's starters in a way - Pokemon XD gave you the starters with the beams known. This still excludes Gen 3's though.

Also, Torchic has already been given special treatment - it's the only starter that could go into Amity Square until Platinum, and it was the only one available via Pokewalker.

Charizard could be good. It just needs better stats. And movepool. And not being weak to Water and Rock.

Are you implying that all fire types are weak because they are weak against water and rock?

Apparently not, but it's kind of true. The only fire types currently in OU are:
Volcanora, who has stats pretty much cherry picked to be a special sweeper, and quiver dance the second most powerful boosting move IN THE GAME. And would in fact be Uber if it WASNT weak to the rocks and surf.
And Chandelure, because of Shadow Tag, without, is UU.
How many water types in OU?
Keldeo (possibly banned later)
Politoed (only because of rain)
Gastrodon
And I'm probably forgetting some.

You forgot a Fire type in OU
Infernape is OU because of it's higher speed high attack and great movepool plus it is a Fire type neutral to Rock

Kyurem-W is Uber----Kyurem-B is OU
I wonder what tier I'll be in
