without a solid development team, no game has potential.

True, but this game could be very fun if the developer continues with his progress. Not to mention it is free and very early in development. XD

And it's going to get a C&D from Nintendo shortly after it gets released.

Like always when this game gets posted, I look forward to seeing how far this game can go. It looks pretty nice so far, but there's not much to it yet

Yeah. The catching is too easy and some of the fights are hard but it's got good potential. It looks pretty good and creator is showing they have talent.

What I look forward to most is how good the story will be.

Most of the time this is a true statement. However, there have been exceptions in the past. A great example is Plasma Pong. Done by one guy, it had great potential, until it was shut down.

The claim is that it is to respect the 'Pong' trademark, but I don't buy it. Especially since the site has been showing the same message since Plasma Pong stopped developent, with no more progress after that point.

If he really wanted to continue working on the project, all he had to do was change the name. Plenty of Pong clones exist, most just don't use the name.

But on the topic, I see no reason to like that piece of shovelware that is "Pokemon Generations", I've seen videos, and frankly it's not very good. Extremely low quality work, glitchy gameplay, and to top it all off, they're making it without ever having obtained permission to do so.

The scale of the project means that it won't be ignored by Nintendo, GameFreak or The Pokemon Company forever. Eventually a cease and desist notice will be presented to the developer.

It's a shame but I think you are probably right in that a C and D will be issued at some point. I just hope that the developer gets time to implement his ideas before then. I really want to see what this guy can do.
