who knows maybe nintendo will decide to set a precedent and fund the person instead of sending a c/d letter

Sega sort of beat them to that punch. They allowed the guy who was developing the fan game Retro Sonic to make the Sonic CD remake with their support. He's since done a remake of Sonic 1 for mobile platforms.

One trend seems to be appearing in the remakes he's involved with. Previously unplayable characters being able to be unlocked. Tails in Sonic CD, as well as both Tails and Knuckles in Sonic 1.

There are some very talented modders/creators out there. The big companies should take notice.

Personally, I can see the promise in this game, but I think it will require a LOT of work.

I just hope that if it gets a C&D that they do it soon and don't wait for it to be almost done like with the fan made Chrono Trigger sequel. It was almost done and then they had to stop. Sure, someone eventually finished it, but still ... it was quite a let down (though, it was predictable that it would be shut down).

I only laugh at pain, and it's about to get real funny.

Oh yeah it will. There's only 1 guy working on it too, but if it gets more popular you never know.

Ps I don't know there was a fan sequel to Chrono trigger. I love that game!!!

I'm most excited for the online play. That could really be something special. Imagine the battles or double teaming a wild pokemon. Beast.

Really? That's what it takes to impress people? If they tried to release a game at retail looking like THAT it would be laughed out of stores immediately. It's impressive I guess for an indie thing but people act like it's better than the main series.

Is the game itself impressive, no. As it is, it is terrible and not worth my time to do much with.

I think that what makes it impressive is the concept (it impresses me anyway). I would like to see a fully developed game where I can see pokemon in the environment and interact with them (much more than I can see in this one, but it's still interesting). This is, admittedly, very beta, but I can still imagine how awesome it could be. Will it get there? Probably not, but I am impressed by the possibility and the dedication and time the person has put into making it. I have lots of ideas for games, but I never try to do anything with those ideas.

Kudos to this fan for at least trying to do something with his/her idea. I think the time commitment that he/she put in is impressive in of itself.

100% agree. It takes time to develop something like this and I hope they are given the time to implement their ideas.

Being able to sneak attack a Pokemon or at least see who you are encountering is great. I like the way they are in their own environments. Eg squirtle swimming around. Imagine that pond filled with magikarp & startup. That'd be awesome. Or later Pidgey's in trees. It has some much potential I just hope they don't give up

Na its not better than the main series but it has good ideas. Your not going to beat a multi billion dollar company when you are working on your own. For an early development indie have this is looking not bad.

Catching pokemon is pretty easy in this lol. I've been testing the limits of the game. You can catch from pretty far away.

Hahaha, some of you guys are trying way too hard to dismiss something that, in a few ways, is better than anything Nintendo has given us. All this backlash is in response to the embarrassing fact that one man has proven that he can get close to what a whole TEAM of a multi-million dollar company could do.

No, really, I don't care.
