Ghost dark is good tho. Blocks rapid spin.

Also, flying/steel, steel/ghost, steel/bug, water/ground

Offensively, though, I'd say it's probably Dragon/Fighting.

Fire/Dragon also has perfect coverage pretty much, except Dragon/Fighting isn't blocked by Heatran and hits more types for SE damage.

Fire/Dragon: Hits Grass, Bug, Ice, Steel, Dragon, and is ineffective against Heatran
Dragon/Fighting: Hits Steel, Rock, Normal, Dark, Ice, Dragon, and still hits Psychic/Steels for neutral.

This is why I don't think they'll make a Dragon/Fighting, even with Fairy being released.

Not the best, but I do love the hypothetical Fighting/Ghost on offense and defense.

Water/Dragon.

2 of the most common offensive types, with one apparently "broken".
Most of their individual weaknesses are countered by the other typing
Only has one weakness and that is a rare type.

Has to be a reason why Kingdra is the only thing Clair has that is remotely threatening.

Not only that but dragon types tend to have very open move pools. Were talking stuff like Thunder, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Fire blast, Earthquake, Stone edge ( Especially since its part steel and they tend to all have that too ) and water moves. Dragon types are naturally built for offensive purposes. So a Dragon / Steel pokemon would likely have incredible coverage and incredible defenses.
