Why do people hate FR/LG?

The game is rarely mentioned and is often overshadowed by the originals despite fixing (almost) everything about them

I dislike it, but not hate it. It was too much like the original - plot, pokemon, region, gym leaders, etc.. but I guess that's why there called "remakes". : /

Chespin and Froakie are the best things, since sliced bread. LOL

Hate? I think you'll be hard pressed to find even 2 topics bashing FR/LG. Like I said in your previous topic:

"FR/LG don't get much hate at all, and that's as much credit as you can get from the Pokemon fanbase."

I was a bit disappointed that the Sevii Islands region wasn't as expansive as I thought it would be, but on the whole I loved Leaf Green.

1. It restricted you to just the original 150 (151?) Pokemon instead of bringing in a few new Pokemon lines for balance.

2. It felt a bit slow compared to R/S/E.

3. It lacked R/S/E features, meaning no Espeon, Umbreon, Milotic, growing berries, or contests.

4. The Sevii Islands were kind of lacking.

5. More events that only Japan got, leaving some areas half-assed.

6. Lacked a Battle (place), with Trainer Tower being a bland and predictable thing.

7. The summary when you start a game was annoying and couldn't be disabled.

8. Pickup was terribad.

9. Started to bring in hand-holding.

10. The breeding location wasn't as convenient as R/S/E's.

Probably more issues I can't think of right now.

1) Though getting the Friendship evolutions during the main game would've been nice (I admit that I hacked in a wild Espeon to catch), I thought the original 150 was good enough for Kanto.

2) Didn't feel any slower or faster than R/S/E

3) Outside of the Friendship restriction, there was nothing in R/S/E that I missed in FR/LG.

4) Still a better post-game than G/S/C Kanto.

5) Granted.

6) Feh... I find Battle facilities to be a big waste of time. No loss here.

7) Five extra seconds of rapidly tapping A is a deal-breaker? Not to me.

8) Was FR/LG the first game to use the Pokémon's level to decide Pickup odds?

9) At least the majority of it was limited to the beginning of the game like most other games do, and the rest was optional.

10) Granted. They should've made it so that the breeding center in Kanto can take two Pokémon once you've cleared the main story.

You get the running shoes later in FRLG, and there's no Mach Bike.

So what? I'm not a speed demon. I prefer to take my time on a Pokémon game.
