That ghost/steel type cheesing the hell out of double team and amie evasion hax will be fun. Immune to the best perfect accuracy attack, every other perfect acc move is resisted and/or lol base power.

You'd need rainy thunder, no guard, foresight/odor sleuth or haze to cut the crap and end it efficiently I'd imagine.

No Guard is currently Honedge's only known ability.

Possible outcomes.

1. Feature dosen't carry over to online. (Best option)
2. Everyone hacks for maximum friendship.
3. No friendship clause becomes a new rule.

Simulators won't be affected at least.

So basically completely disregard the central themes of Pokemon in favor of abuse. Ghetsis would be proud of you,

Noted.

Still, there's way to get rid of no guard or turn another Pokemon into a great defensive type (reflect type for example)

Since when was the theme of Pokemon "Be friendly to your Pokemon, and you'll be able to flip coins to potentially rob a more skilled and/or better prepared opponent who treated their Pokemon just as nicely of a victory they deserved?"

I believe the line was "truly skilled trainers can win with their favorites." Not "those who loved their Pokemon and got heads on the coin toss can win with their favorites."

Edit: Also, as somebody else mentioned earlier, they could have emphasized the whole "Friendship toward you Pokemon brings out their true strength" moral a LOT better, if, say, the bonds increased your Pokemon's IVs. Not only would this fix a major complaint with the way the system is currently designed, but it would also be a concrete, noticeable change that would effect every battle, in comparison to the current randomly generated benefits, which may potentially never show up in any battle, now matter how well you treat your Pokemon.

So, in truth, the message GameFreak is really sending here with their mechanics, rather than their narrative (actions speak louder than words) is: "Breeding for the master race and purging the genetically impure is the only way to guarantee strength; friendship will not bring you reliable strength, and will likely fail when you need it most."

Critical hits and evasion are a matter of skill.
