As for using Malamar? I probably will if I don't do a mono-fire run.

As long as its stats aren't too bad I'll most likely use it.

Eh steel only resists the dragons stab moves. I would never expect to completely wall a dragon with a steel type.

Lets use Dragonite as an example shall we. Dragonite if it uses outrage can be temporarily walled by a steel type. However Dragonite can any actually does on occassion carry all of the following. Earthquake super effective against steel. Fire punch and fire blast, super effective against steel. Super power, Super effective against steel.

Dragon + Fire hits everything except Heatran at least neutrally. Psychic types need to carry at least Shadow Ball/Dark Pulse and Focus Miss not to get walled.

Not that it matters, because coverage moves don't mean anything. Nidoking can use everything except grass, that has nothing to do with being poison or ground. GF hands out coverage moves to pokemon that they feel like giving moves too, not because of typing, just look at Haxourus(not that he needs anything anyway)

Psychic is a mediocre offensive typing and defensive, resisting fairy would have been nice.

Gotta get mah Psychic~

It's either Malamar or Gallade(used Gardevoir 5 times already...), but Pangoro is also on my team already, so i can only pick one.

You may have used Gardevoir five times already, but its type has changed. Using a Gen I Magnemite was far different from using a Gen II one.

Generation (pi)(i).
When you see this, raise e to the generation and add 1. Social experiment.

Using magnemite in gen 5 was different from using it in gen 4. The addition of a typing is not the only way things can change.
