I won't be playing Pokemon X/Y on the 2DS but if I had a lot of money to spare I would just buy the 2DS for collector's purpose. --- Pokemon W2 Friend Code: 4771 6198 2957

If only it folded.
Exactly. I don't care about 3D that much, but I do like the clamshell design. --- PS Deputy & Dex Filler__Jobs:DCCCXL+__Gen 5 [wolfman] [1851-1357-0791] I will laugh when you can't send pokes to gen 6.

Lol, this is one of the most pointless revisions ever. It looks like they were just trying to appeal to the little kids that love tablet gaming from Reggie's statements. --- Many Bothans died to bring you this post.

The only purpose I see for it is that it's cheap, so I can use it to transfer my pokemon over from previous games. --- PSN: JoshD8705 - One of my covers: Hawthorne Heights - Ohio Is For Lovers http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/r/bd6a4e144

Its Nintendo's attempt at making a 'Lite' version of the 3DS...I think I'll pass. What I like about 3DS is its 3D. --- Gen IV FC: 2536-3829-5092 Gen V FC: 0819-4243-0361 PSN: blueink8

I'm going to be playing it on my XL the way it was meant to be played.

Will I be getting one? Probably not. If they make an xl version of the 2ds, I'd consider buying one for my dad. He doesn't care about the 3D, but he definitely needs to have the bigger screens (him being old and all), and he has bigger hands so the size of the 2DS would be perfect.
That being said, I believe that the 2DS is obviously targeting younger kids who want to play 3DS games and also want a tablet like mommy or daddy's ipad. And because the price of the 2DS is equal to or cheaper than most namebrand tablets, parents are more likely to buy it.
I think Nintendo is being smart with this "redesign". Because they already have the 3DSXL, so there's not too much they can do with a 3DSXL2 (besides bigger screens and an extra circle pad). So they are doing a "downgrade" to make sales on the people who have yet to get up-to-date with the current gen of Nintendo handhelds. --- 3DS Friend Code- 2535-3717-4504 White Friend Code- 0476-3773-4673
You don't need a 2DS. From what I've read and understood, it was made for children 7 and under because of the whole 3D crap. Also, LOL at it coming out on the same day as pokemon X and Y. If you wanted to transfer pokemon over folks, this is probably the only way were gonna be able to do it.
3DS app doesn't seem likely after seeing this, but who knows.
If someone can explain how the hell this nulls the possibility of a 3DS app for transfer, or that only this model supports transfers, that would be VERY informational instead of blatant claims with no evidence. --- Currently playing: Pokemon Black 2(JPN), Kirby 20th Anniversary Collection(Wii)
